It's All About The Men..

I'm convinced men are equally as concerned about their appearance, but the majority of them just don't show it. They know that dressing well is major brownie points with any girl, so let's be honest they want to make that effort. So all right guys, here are a few fall must have's that are in trend & should be staple pieces in your closet. You can wear most of these in multiple ways & get creative, so investing in a nice item will go a long way I can promise you that! As I've said hundreds of times, every great trend starts in England. I look to the British to see what's happening and trust me they always know. This also means it takes some time to come to the main stream American retail, and takes even longer to come into trend in cities outside of LA and New York. My biggest piece of advice is don't be scared to take a risk. Just because you are the only one of your friends to own corduroy pants doesn't mean you should shy away from wearing it. It's called being a trend STARTER. You wear something new and fresh, and people follow. Who doesn't want to lead the pack?

1. Pea Coats - Camel & Tan
Pea coats are a timeless look that is very uni-sex. In the past few years it's been all about the basic black and grey pea coats, but for this season it's all about freshening it up. Camel, khaki, and tan colored pea coats are coming back into style strong for Fall/Winter. The 60's and 70's era influence is being seen more heavy during the coming months, and that includes having brighter colored wool coats. Basically, let's channel your inner Mad Men. The Camel color is soft, easy on the eyes, and can really give a nice pop to just about any outfit. This coat looks great when it's a little tightered and tailored to fit your body. The best part of the color Camel is that is matches almost anything (well except for grey...), and it just makes the outfit brighter. The look is great with a chunky cable knit sweater, some dark jeans, and suede loafers. Complete perfection. You can throw it on with almost outfit and it will give it a pop and majorly turn ladies heads.

2. Staple Black Blazer
I can't possibly emphasize the importance of every guy to have a tailored black blazer. It's not an option, it's a necessity! If someone can tell me what's hotter then a guy with a loose button down (top button open) & a tailored blazer ill be impressed. Because in reality, that is just about as good as it gets. Wear a blazer with black pants, wear them with dark jeans, wear them with corduroys (ill get to that next), and most importantly wear it out to a bar. Seriously. What I wouldn't do to walk into a bar and see a guy in a blazer who didn't just come from a wedding or a race track. It basically screams "hi, I'm mature, sophisticated, charming...you want to talk to me." Yeah... if you're a guy you need it.

3. Corduroy Pants
This trend is taking a spin on the basic khaki pants. You might have a closet full of every shade of denim, every shade of khaki (including the navy and red), but what you don't have is probably fitted corduroy pants. What I love about this trend is that you can wear them in almost any color without looking ridiculous. Do you want to wear maroon pants? Olive green? Corduroy makes that looks flawless, where as khaki in those shades can come out looking kind of funky. These pants look best when paired to dress up your outfit. So I suggest it with a nice collar shirt, button down, and/or a blazer. Hey... better yet imagine this with a Camel pea coat. Now we're talking.

4. Plaid
So this might seem a little lumberjack-ish, but plaid is actually getting revamped. The thing about plaid is that it needs to be done in moderation. You can only pick one piece to wear per outfit. What I love is a plaid tie because it's so unique and makes a boring outfit fun. Other options are plaid trimmed blazers (how great is that?!), and of course the ever so loved plaid shirt. A way to make plaid look less homely and more sexy is to avoid wearing it with jeans. Khakis are okay, but the best option is with black pants and maybe even a blazer to spice it up.

Christina
