Style your Man

Alright, so the age old question from men is always "What should I wear to impress a girl" or "What is in style and fresh for guys this season?" Trust me boys if you want girls to notice you, then you must dress to impress. We put a LOT of time into getting ourselves weekend ready so we love it when you put in a little extra effort. Sure a button down & some jeans is nice, but really... give that extra touch. I promise we love it. This goes for girls also, if you are looking to spice your man up a bit with for Xmas, I have a few of this Winters greatest looks!

First thing's first, the winter can get cold (even here in SoCal). Most guys will wear a long sleeve shirt and maybe a jacket (we all know its hard to get guys to admit they're cold..) This winter switch it up with these amaze chunky sweaters. It's a little preppier if you throw on a scarf with it (so cute), but even without it they look great. Chunky sweaters are warm enough some days to wear on their own, or throw a Pea Coat on top to complete the look. Here are some of my fav looks

Alright, moving on! If you have been paying attention you've noticed the military look is trying to make a bit of a comeback. One look I like for guys with this feel is the Military-themed watches. They are a blend of rugged & sexy all wrapped in one. It's not your classic polished watch but it has a great manly feel.

Most guys I see out are almost always wearing jeans! Jeans, jeans, jeans. Yes, jeans are great for a lot of ocassions. However, this season switch it up with a pair of fitted khakis. No, not just ANY khakis. The fitted khaki's we are seeing this season are made from a thicker material. Thick khaki, a bit skinnier fit, and also in a lot of great colors. Don't be scared to wear some green, maroon, or blue khakis this winter. You can pair some navy khakis with a grey chunky sweater and INSTANTLY you went from your usual boring jeans & tee look to a stud.

Next up?? ...skinny ties! I know some guys have already been rocking this look, but a lot of men still prefer the usual thicker ties. I promise you if you invest in some skinny ties it will be well worth it. The good news? You can throw these on with nice jeans and a button down to dress it up, AND you can wear it with a well tailored suit and it will look polished. It's basically the best of both worlds. And for guys, a tie that can be versatile like that is a win/win.

Alright Ill try to contain myself for one post, not to overload. So for a recap, if you are a guy looking to add some extra style to your wardrobe to dress to impress then check these suggestions out. Slowly filtering in a new extra sweaters, investing in a new watch etc.
If your a girl wanting to dress up your man these are also safe choices. He will love you for having something new, and you will love him rockin his amaze outfit when your out together. You can show him off.. greatness for everyone.

Enjoy loves!

I've Got A Crush on Velvet...

The holiday season is upon us, and so is Velvet! Ok Ok, don't think back to the velvet your mom dressed you in when you were 12 and hated. The velvet amazingness out this season is polished, sexy & very winter-friendly. Velvet this season is hot hot hot in mini dresses, mini skirts, blazers, and cute clutches. I can't possibly stress how great this material is, the way it hugs your curves is flattering but won't be hugging in all the wrong places.

Juicy makes a perfect holiday party dress in Velvet thats my person favorite.

When a trend is still in its Early Adopters phase, it tends to be found mostly in high-end designers. One thing we saw on the runway for Fall/Winter 2010 was the look of velvet tuxedo jackets for women. D&G and Alexander Wang made my two favorite because of their tailoring.

Velvet skirts & tops are also great Holiday picks. These pieces are warm, and you can layer up the velvet skirt & top with a black tuxedo blazer, some thick black tights & closed toe booties. Instant outfit, total perfection.

Ok, so what if you are not down to the whole idea of velvet everywhere, but you still want to spice things up? These velvet bow clips will add a super cute feel to a half-up do, or can be used to pin back some locks. Either way, they make a great holiday feel addition

Last and finally not least, every girls favorite accessory for a night out? The clutch! No girl can leave the house without a sexy clutch to complete the outfit. Of course Kate Spade and Alexander Wang make clutches to die for, but endless also has a more affordable option.

*This has been a whole lot of velvet for one day, so I'll leave it at that! But, keep an eye out this season for the velvet craze to hit. As the weeks pass more & more retailers will start stocking up on this cozy trend. Get those dresses now girls before they sell out!
Happy Shopping!

Wrap Watches

This look has got to be one of my all time favorites. I personally think its such a great twist to the classic watches we see. These wrap watches work to look as a bracelet & watch in one. I am the kind of girl who will wear a watch with bangles and make it chunky. So this look is perfect for anyone who likes to layer it up. My absolute favorite of all is this Michael Kors wrap watch

I can't possibly rave enough about how great these watches are. There is a lot of different takes on this style, from more of a polished look like Michael Kors, & also some grungy boho looks. Here's a few examples.

I could probably go on all day picking out my favorites, but I suggest you all check some out for yourself. It's a good way to switch up your style a little, and to add some spice to your watch collection.

Rose Gold accessories

We all love accessorizing our outfits with jewelry, watches, headbands etc. Usually we reach for either the silver, gold, or maybe pearl from our jewelry box. This year change it up with adding Rose Gold into your ensemble. Although rose gold has been out for a while now, this year we are really seeing it sky rocket in popularity. It's starting to slowly but surely creep its way into mainstream. Rose gold has such an elegant feel & adds a little more of a subtle hue to your outfit versus the typical gold.

If you decide to even get one piece of Rose Gold jewelry I would recommend going for a watch. The boyfriend watch looks amazing in this shade & is really a statement piece on your wrist. My favorite is this Nixon chronograph watch. Really bold and luxurious. It goes with any color whether you rock mostly black, mostly greys, or browns this fall.

Although nixon is my favorite, it's pretty pricey. To get this look for less here are a few links to some other options:

Rose Gold Shoes

Rose gold isnt just for watches & jewelry. It's also going to be hot in pumps & sandals. Although you don't see a whole lot of this color in sandals just yet, it's going to be HUGE when Spring comes. Right now some designers like Brian Atwood are setting up the trend by designing some amazing heels in Rose Gold. These shoes are only available custom made & for a price tag of $5,000 up. But as trends trickle down to more mainstream designers, look for this trend to start showing up. I can guarantee you come spring time you will see these in Neimans, Nordstroms & Sak's. Gorgeous.

Alright guys, so there you have it. Next time you go shopping take a look at this great metallic color. It's sure to spice up all your outfits this Winter!

Corduroy making a comeback

Hey guys! Each week I'm picking a few trends to look for coming up this Winter. With so many things seem on the runway last year, it's hard to know what will be hot & what will be a fashion faux pas. That's where the work of a trend forecaster comes in, to predict the upcoming trends & in my case tell you where to buy them & how to wear them

This week, the trend to watch for is skinny Corduroys. We've all seen corduroys time & time again every winter, but this year they are really making a splash. These skinny corduroys or in some cases corduroy leggings are the perfect fall piece. They go well with just about anything & look even more amazing with a pair of boots or some stiletto pumps.

My favorite pair are the AG stretch Corduroy leggings.

Im basically obsessed with the my AG's. They are extremely comfortable & can be paired nicely with just about anything. Even though fall weather hasnt quite hit in Cali just yet, you can still get away with wearing these with a vintage tee & some sandals. For the winter though they look amazing with just about any color boot. You can wear them with booties (as shown), or dress them up with some tall knee high brown boots. Whichever you choose, these will be a hit.
The best thing about these pants is the versatility. You can wear this with a silk blouse & some pumps for a more professional dressy feel. You can also work it with a plaid button-up & some tall flat brown leather boots. Some other options are pairing them with some black leather boots & a motorcycle leather jacket to be more edgy. There are literally endless options on how to rock these & i can promise if you splurge & get a great pair you will get 100% use out of it!
