MTV Movie Award Best Dressed

Oh how I love the Red Carpet. If you watched the MTV movie awards you probably have your top outfits picked out by now. I'd say after taking a first glance at everyone, I picked up a few trends & a few favorites. One thing I saw a lot of is that silhouette I was obsessing over last Fall. The spring/summer trend for dresses is definitely the looser cut look, wore with no belt. We saw this trend on Leighton Meester & Brooklyn Decker who pulled it off with sparkle & class.

Another cut I love was on Erin Heatherton, who wore a dress with a tail hem that was longer in the back then the front. Of course no one could stop staring at her legs, lets be real.

Another personal fav of mine was Jessica Szohr in her jumpsuit. A lot of critics will say she was totally off, but I think she was completely ON. This was a fun print, & a good occassion to be a little crazy.

These top 4 got my vote for best dressed last night. Who did you like??

Little black dress with a big impression

The billboard music awards this past Sunday were about like any other music awards show. I expected to see some great dresses on the red carpet, but I never expected to be so in love with the Dolce & Gabbana gown that Selena Gomez wore. I think Maxi dresses are sexy in themselves, and this had added cut-out detail along with a high leg slit. It was black, it was sleek & mostly it was sexy. I want to get my hands on this dress & then fly to Fiji to wear this to a 5 star dinner on the shore (in a perfect world). I'll just continue day dreaming while looking at the pics of Selena's fab outfit choice below... love

Let me introduce you to my denim affair

If you know me at all, you also know my may-jor love for Siwy jeans. I would trade every pair of Sevens & Hudsons for one pair of Siwy. If I'm not being a fashion freak hunting for Siwy everywhere, then you can find me doing the same for J Brand. Hands down the top two go-to denim houses. There are a lot of reasons I love each & why I constantly recommend these to my friends.

Siwy has a great fit. It will give you curves for days. Some jeans flatten you out, but these can make any girl (even skinny minny like me) look like I have curves & a booty to match. However my FAVORITE Siwy feature is the amazing washes they offer. Michelle Siwy knew what she was doing when she created a Rose gold denim wash like "Desert Rose." It's such perfection it makes you wonder why on earth no one thought of it first. It's like any outfit you can fathom there is a matching fit, wash & cut. Ive seen Siwy jeans in a black wash with black lace pockets (to die for), as well as stone wash bleached to look completely natural. Unbelievable craftsmanship in each pair have sealed the deal for me. If I could own every pair I promise you I would.

The reasons I love J Brand are totally different. Everyone has their go-to jeans that you can throw on with chunky heels & a tank to instantly look hot while feeling comfy. J Brand jean material is hands down the most comfortable jean material out there. It's kind of thin & stretchy but in the perfect way. You would have no idea you had them on all day because they mold to your body & feel sooo so soft. I love J Brand for their ability to make me happy to roll out of bed & get dressed when all I want to do is throw on sweats & hope I don't see anyone I know (we all have those days). Major comfort & major style is what makes this a great investment for any closet. Another great plus? J Brand has a summer collection that includes red, purple & blue denim. This season is all about being bold & they have you covered in almost any hue you can possibly want.

Summers Secret Weapon

What's worst in the summer then a hot humid day where your mascara starts to run? Or a day at the pool where you attempt the au natural look with just a touch of waterproof mascara that ends up back firing and clumping. My secret weapon & addiction of the summer for quite some time has been eyelash tinting. Many salons offer this semi permanent lash tint. You chose your color (brown, brown-black, or black) and they carefully die each lash on top & bottom. What you get is lashes that always look like they have a coat of mascara on. Results lasts about 2-3 weeks, and wont smudge or rub off at the pool, in the shower or with the use of makeup remover pads. The procedure runs about $15-$20 depending on the salon & is a great summertime investment!

On Trend: Electric Colors

The amount of electric blue, bright orange & hot pinks that we saw during the England coverage of the Royal Wedding was bananas. Everywhere you looked someone was wearing these bold hues. Every spring we get lots of new colors, but this spring its everything amplified 10X. I'm talking about hues that are so bright you can see them a mile away. Not quite neon, but still incredibly sharp. Rich cherry reds, lemonade yellow, tangerine orange... All perfectly blended in dresses & handbags. It's best to chose one bright statement piece and go natural for the other accessories. If you wear an electric blue top, do white pants, nude pumps, and big gold bangles. Your top will be the center piece. Same goes for a bright dress. Don't overdo it with matching neon pumps because that can clutter the outfit & take it from fashionable to a messy look. As usual, here is you're eye candy..

The official white holiday.

For starters, blogging from my new iPad is making my urge to write daily even bigger.. Get ready for lots of updates!! Now... On to white. If the fashion world followed the rules every year then technically tomorrow's celebration of Easter would also include the first day that you are allowed to wear white again. White pants, shoes, shorts get the official thumbs up to be worn. Also all those pretty pastels you love are also now ready to be shown off! However this fashion year went quite differently. Winter white was picked up as a huge trend in itself and white became the platform for runways everywhere. We saw white being worn religioiusly as early as Janauary. Talk about a change of events! I personally love white and love soft colors so this was my kind of trend... I jumped right in. For those of you who played by the rules however you can indulge in some white mania as of tomorrow morning. I have a few fav white pieces I think to be staples in every girls ensemble. You must have a white bag, white patent pumps, white skinny jeans & a white blazer (of course not all together). Here are some suggestions to get your summer closet ready!

Warning: Elie Saab and LOTS of eye candy

I don't normally do this, but I absolutely can't stop raving about Elie Saab's Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear line. If you haven't seen it yet then I can guarantee you will feel the same once you look through my gallery of looks. When I see a Ready-to-wear runway show chances are half the stuff I would never truly wear, or I am not completely satisfied by each piece. As I took a second look at the collection by Elie Saab I realized you could take any piece off the model right then & there, put it directly on me, and I would be in fashion heaven. Not one look isn't completely polished and breathtaking. I could not get over how smoothly the 70's vibe was tied into todays fashion. I see now why many celebrities are running to Elie Saab as a first choice for award show attire. I have lots and lots of eye candy to stare at so brace yourself..

P.S - Can we talk about how hard it was to pick out my top 20 looks out of 56... It was like having to pick your favorite child. Anyways, it's a lot of looks but I promise its worth every last second.
